23-26 August. Acts include Skerryvore, Martyn Joseph, Phil Beer Band, Steve Knightley (solo) & Merry Hell. For more, see:

https://shrewsburyfolkfestival.co.uk/line-up/artists-2019/

Good start, but I've seen a lot of the acts many times before, so I'll wait & see what else is added to the bill - hopefully a few acts from foreign shores.

Looks good to me, UFQ, Merry Hell, Mankala, Edgelarks, Granny's Attic all playing on two days, throw in Oysterband, Kate Rusby and Skerryvore, I'm more than happy to buy a ticket.

It's the best "early" line up for a few years, in my opinion.

Some good new names on the line-up including Andy Fairweather Low, Eddi Reader, Capercaillie and a few new names to me. MOnday bil looks especially good - see https://shrewsburyfolkfestival.co.uk/line-up/who-is-on-when/ Smiley

Probably the best line up of all the festivals I'll be going to this year.

Is Andy Fairweather Low any good? I hated his voice when he was in Amen Corner, has it got better? But it's a good line-up, so plenty of alternatives.

Capercaillie are a good addition, and Boxwood Chessmen were fine a couple of years ago.

I've seen AFW twice, excellent both times. Even if his voice isn't great and he still does a couple of his  old pop songs amongst the excellent R&B. Terrific band, I recall the bassist is another ex-Clapton sidekick.

Just been checking out Boxwood Chessmen on Youtube - they do sound good.

Andy Fairweather Low is a great act live. The band is good, and he is a pretty good guitar player. Seems like a nice chap as well.

I thought Capercaillie had called it a day a few years ago?  Presumably it was just a break.

Yes, I thought they were defunct too. Be nice to see them again though.

He played Witham Public Hall recently. It was an excellent gig playing all the known hits and he signed a CD for me even though he wasn’t supposed to be doing any signings! Nice man

a few more interesting acts added:

I'm doing Sun/Mon and will certainly try to see Cajun Country Revival (with Vera van Heeringen) & Jim Moray's Folk Slam. Michael Messer's Mitra could be interesting too.

Shame I won't be able to see Martin Barre's lot, who are playing the Saturday
