2019 is of course the 50th Anniversary year.

I have seen one date already for March 2019 so that indicates at least one tour in the year.

Also I have seen it confirmed that the band are working on a new Album for 2019 and that they will be playing some new songs on the upcoming October 2018 tour.

Should be a good year Smiley

I wonder if we hear anything from Park Records ? lol

I find smiling to that particular question impossible these days.

So, what do you think - are they trying to get people to commit to attending tour date(s) before announcing a big reunion gig ..or are they not having a reunion. Not all bands can be like Fairport - Tull didn't manage one for their 50th, only a tour by current band.

Fairport have the advantage of, in the main, genuinely liking each other (or seeming to - if you push the whole Swarb thing under the carpet, at least).  Tull?  Ha ha ha.  Steeleye, I've not really delved deeply enough tbh....

I think the latest line up is the best since the first album, the set at Shrewsbury Festival was stunning. We've booked for the New Vic in April.

Of course they played last year. The set then was good but nowhere near as good as they've been this year when I've seen them. The new line up is clearly getting better as they gel. Lets hope for even more improvement.
