Our Music Co-op was served an eviction notice last weekend which happened to be when the local Lancaster Live music festival was on - nice timing by the City Council. It's been covered in the local press and now the inews has a story on it -

The guys have put together a 28 track compilation of bands who have recorded at the Co-op as a fundraiser. It's £5 or more if you're feeling generous. There's not much in the way of folk and acoustic music but I can recommend tracks by Dean McPhee, Hiroshima Twinkie and Paddy Garrigan & the Stroller Priests. And Kriss Foster's zombie song is quite amusing.

The City Council has done a U-turn and "voted unanimously to work with the city’s Musicians’ Co-op to  secure their long-term future."

Or put another way, the Labour-run Council realised they had massively underestimated local support for the Co-op and that they would be in danger of losing their majority at the next local elections if they'd gone ahead with the eviction.
