We Got Love should really have made the Holland track listing. Thank goodness there's a live version preserved on 1973's excellent In Concert album, recorded when the Beach Boys were at the height of their powers as a live band - again, captured on tape just before they became a travelling oldies machine.

Which other track would you have sacrificed to make room for Sail On Sailor?

Going to have to sit on the fence and say none of them. As the Boys' last artistic gasp, We Got Love would've added a bit of light to the album - Steamboat and Leaving This Town are great but not particularly happy songs.

With the album running at 36 minutes I would have thought “We Got Love” could have been added without losing any of the other tracks.

Really?  In which case, I agree.  They should have just made room for one more.

Interesting item about the making of Holland from Dutch TV.  Most of it is in Dutch, but the interviews with Jack Rieley and Blondie Chaplin are in English.  Mostly.

Cut & paste from the Twitter. Had our resident Garcons de la plage seen this?

I’m not a big Beach Boys person, but they’ve just gone and dumped 2 albums of 72 previously unreleased tracks from 1968 onto digital services, obviously for copyright extension reasons.

Thanks.  I don't have Spotify, but I've found that all the tracks are up on YouTube.   Cheesy

If anyone downloads the whole thing, let me know your thoughts.

I hear so many band people saying bad things about it though.

I think it’s because their royalties per stream are perceived to be so appalling. Then again, YouTube aren’t exactly handing out cheques with abandon.

I've had a quick scan of the aforementioned copyright extenders via S*****y (will have a more in depth listen over the weekend) - have found some good stuff so far and the a cappella items are stunning.

The Beach Boys organisation is being VERY generous to us this year - in addition to the aforementioned Friends and 20/20 copyright extenders, Beach Boys On Tour : 1968, over 5 hours (!) of live BB recordings from 1968 (does exactly what it says on the tin) landed on digital platforms today !

Listening to their first London Palladium show right now...
