2 discs remixed album
1 disc Esher demos
3 discs outtakes and rehearsals.

None yet. Announcement was supposed to be yesterday or today but has been strategically pushed back (presumably so as not to clash with the Dylan announcement). Esher demos disc has, I believe, 19 tracks and includes the full set of demos. Some surprises allegedly on discs 4-6. A 3 disc version will be available of just the album & Esher recordings. This from an Apple insider.

So no mono version this time.  Presumably Hey Jude and the single version of Revolution will be part of the outtakes discs.

Apparently not. Alternative takes but not the singles themselves as I understand it.

Nobody cares about 1.

Come on Gub, I'm sure your mystery source must have given you the full track list by now.   Kiss

Nope. I think it is more than his or her life is worth. Hints on the Beatles website that we won't have to wait long though.

Thankfully I don't do the Moodies, though I know some of you do...uh...do.

I saw this the other day but I think it is even too much Moodies for me. I would like to hear the 5.1 mix though. If ever a band was born for surround sound it is surely the Moodies.

However I suspect I will be shelling out for the Blondie: Complete Studio Recordings 1975-82 box that is due out early next year. 5.1 mix less essential. Wink

I tend to agree. It is one of my favorite albums by them, but as I think I said earlier in this thread (or possibly another one) these ultimate sonic mixes do very little for me. I buy box sets for value and volume of material on there. Not the original mix, the quadrophonic mix, the 5.1 mix, the mix where the producer forgot to turn down the floor tom, the mix where the band is heard to be drinking a beer before the take, and the always crucial mix where the solo is cut short for a quick trip to the loo. Wink I'm ok with a couple of takes of key songs done at different tempos that show the evolution of a song, but not full albums.

That is the very definition of superfluous. I see they have missed off the official documentary where Glen Frey comes over as the biggest asshole who ever walked the planet.

So, despite all the cynicism, it turns out to be bloody marvellous.

The demo of Power To The People and the strings only mix of Imagine are worth it alone. And the alternative version of Happy Xmas(War Is Over) completely refreshes the song by paring it back and will be my go to version during the forthcoming festive season.
