Has the copyright run out of these recordings or something?

We're only up to 1968 for that sort of thing, and then it's only previously unreleased stuff, so maybe that covers some of the Jimi and Kinks stuff.

R.E.M. are doing it because they're an archive-only act now.

How much money do you need in the bank before you stop releasing Archive* albums?

*Old, previously discarded stuff. Because there isn't any new stuff.

I consider that to be an unfair generalisation.  Some of the best music I've heard wasn't released in the timeframe it was recorded.

Yes please for this one too.

I have no income.  I really must find a job soon-ish.

Jules

Now sort of confirmed. 6 discs. The Japanese import version is up on Amazon for silly money. Release date 6 November.

No tracklisting yet. Search for More Blood, More Tracks. I understand that there will also be a single disc alternative version of the original album culled from the New York sessions..

Pfft indeed. Unfortunately 6 November is also the release date for the Mott The Hoople box so that will be an expensive day and a busy weekend!

Track list now up. Hmm. I wish this was sequenced differently. I am not fond of multiple takes of the same song all in a row. Weirdly I am less excited by this now I have seen the track listing. I had the same issue with The Cutting Edge set.

Yes, there is an official announcement on bobdylan.com now but no UK pre-orders up yet except for download. The initial US price is pretty steep ($159).

Having looked at the tracklisting, considered the two discs worth of material that is or will be available elsewhere, taken into account the number of brief fragments representing individual tracks, seen the price and in the knowledge that I already have a nice copy of Blood On The Tapes, I think, similarly to the Lennon set, I am only in for the single disc and a download.
