Please post photographs in any topic, but do follow these instructions:

All photographs must be attached using the 'Additional Options...' link when you are writing a post.
Posts containing any links will be removed, as will 'hot-linked' images.
TAW has a very large number of page views (1M+ per month) and we very quickly get blocked by image hosting services if you hot-link.

The idea is that people don't have to wade through thousands of images. Please just post a few of your best ones here.
Maybe a maximum of four photos per topic per day, to give everybody a chance.

Until new members have made 10 posts they can not post photographs, unless they ask an admin first.

It's best if you post images that have been resized down to about 1000 pixels on the longest side.
You can now attach images of any size, but very large ones may time out. Unfortunately I can't find the infernal Linux .conf file that's timing out at 15 seconds.

Photos on TAW remain viewable for 400 days.

Will you open a thread especially for photos this time? Personally I used to really like that and it was easier then to view the photos.

I would encourage people to put photos into the related topics, as you would with text.

However for photos that just fit in elsewhere I will start a topic.

I can’t upload jpegs from my iPad to Talkawhile.

Any recommended app that will convert them on my iPad? I can do it easily on my desktop.

Cheers

On your phone/ipad if you select the picture in Photos you can save it in the files folder by:
Select photo
Bottom left hand corner there is a square with an arrow pointing up
Select the square and then 2 lines of options appear at the bottom of the screen
Upper one is apps
Lower one is options such as save as wallpaper, save to files, assign to contact etc.
Save to files.

Once done then start the post on TAW as usual and select insert image button
Then select Additional Options (just below the dialogue box)
Select the Choose File box
Another dialogue box appears at the bottom of your iphone/ipad with (from the top) Take photo, Photo Library and Browse at the bottom
Select Browse and the files app should automatically open and you should be able to see the image you have saved earlier.
Choose the image and that should be it.

That's how it worked on my iphone just now. Haven't got my iPad with me to check but I'm assuming (hoping) its the same.
BTW I'm running the latest version of IOS (11.4.1)

Please post again if this isn't clear or doesnt work.

Failing all of that I will be at the Pavilion on Thursday with my personal Apple support guru in tow. Josh (my son Bridgwit) will be able to sort you out with all things IOS.  Wink Smiley

All part of the service guv.

Actually, when you get to this stage in my instructions:
Another dialogue box appears at the bottom of your iphone/ipad with (from the top) Take photo, Photo Library and Browse at the bottom

Then you should be able to select Photo library and take the picture directly from Photos which negates the having to save to files earlier.

Hope this works (as it does include a picture). Just a quick mention for our dog Charlie, a seasoned Cropredy-goer, who sadly passed away in June. Cropredy won't be quite the same this year.
