Saw it last night.  They'll get bailed out, but it's all a bit ****.

There's a rumour going round that Gibson will be bought by Fender. Stranger things have happened, and Fender can certainly afford it.

A slightly more sensible / plausible rumour going round the music store trade is that Gibson will be bought by Yamaha. Suits me as a present and past owner of several Yamaha products - they'll be in good hands.

I saw a press release earlier, it mentioned  that they are restructuring & will still be manufacturing guitars & all existing orders will be completed & they are still a going concern, apparently filing for bankruptcy is to allow them to ditch the electronics side & concentrate on guitars.

I used to have a 1970-something cream-colored Les Paul; worst guitar I ever played. After years of frustration, I found out the twelfth fret was completely worn down, which explains why it sounded like ****.

I replaced the fret, sold the guitar and invested the proceeds in a 1991 Paul Reed Smith custom, and I am still berry berry happy about the change.   Smiley
