A lot of good acts on this year at Purbeck, 16-19 August, from reliable established acts (RT Trio, Sam Kelly, The Rails, UFQ, Flatville Aces ) & emerging younger ones (Threepenny Bit,TEYR, Siobhan Miller) to a good range of left-field acts (QuinnsQuinney, Dylema Collective, Jez Hellard & The Djukella Orchestra) .. looks like my sorta fest.  Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

They haven't updated their web page but have drip-fed their announcements on Twitter at

https://twitter.com/PurbeckFolk

I went to this one in 2015 and it was excellent. Smiley Think I'll do it again this year, rather than Shrewsbury.

If you have a guitar, use, mandolin or indeed any folkish instrument bring it along.  I started to try and learn guitar a few years ago but, by chance, wandered into the Folkorc (http://www.folkorc.co.uk) tent and spent two hours a day just playing simple folk stuff in the mornings then being on stage on the Sunday afternoon performing on stage (as part of a big group).  The Purbeck festival has a great vibe and I'm looking forward to it.

Folk Orc did the same thing this year, absolutely packed the stage at the long barn and had musicians in the photo pit as well
