I think its a rather (small c) conservative lineup myself.  A very good one though...

I see what you mean David - the bill could do with a few more left-field acts, maybe from foreign shores?

We wait in hope ....

Was considering going this year, but other than Boden doesn't do it for me.

Looking at the festival line ups so far seems to be a lack of bands with real energy.
More like Traddarr, Merry Hell, Mad Dog Mcrae, blackbeards ,Skinny Lister and Tankus please organisers.

A few more added: Shooglenifty with Dhun Dhora,  The Mighty Doonans,  Turin Brakes, Fisherman's Friends & Brooks Williams Band... strong line-up, if maybe lacking some starts from overseas.

Other way round for me Trev. Lot of good stuff on except for Boden. Its a nice festival , I never went until about 4 or 5 years ago when we were invited as artistes guests for 2 years and really enjoyed it. We've been as punters for the last couple and will go this year. The only thing they get wrong is the ridiculous stance over blacked up Morris dancers.

Agree with that.
As for the energy, or lack thereof (a criticism I don't accept anyhow), there are loads of festivals of different sizes which cater for that kind of thing, they aren't hard to find. Salop Folk Fest is a little different, and long may it be so.  Smiley

There is a dance tent for those who feel energetic. I've never been in it!!

I went last year for the first time and loved it.
There was definitely a mix of views to be heard then - so expect a few this year
