OK I get all that but what has this all got to do with turns & tickets at Cropredy?

There's not much likely to be going on for a while now, so the topic can drift a bit.

Didn't Peggy dep on bass for the Drifters a few years ago?

Yes, I think Matt Pegg was playing in their backing band and for one reason or another had to miss a show. So without missing a best Peggy stepped up and deputised for the one night.

Cropredy 2018

Because I have used Ticketmaster in the past I seem to be getting about five emails a day from them promoting Brian Wilson at Cropredy - not sure if it is good marketing or looking a bit desperate.

Are you buying five tickets a day?  No?  Bit desperate, then....  Wink Grin

I remember how I felt, seeing Peter Green on a stage with The Splinter Group in 1997 (or thereabouts) in Woking. Broken but...worth seeing.

Although it's often stated Peter Green hadn't been on stage since the 70's he actually had (with Pete Bardens in the early-mid 1980's - I saw them at a pub in Midhurst.  It was horrifying).  Same with Lee...he'd been playing fairly (ir)regularly in the US.  Pre-internet though, we simply didn't know about it.

well i saw Green at the Wimbledon theatre in 85 (cant remember the exact date possibly 86)  and honestly he was tremendous - hugely overweight wearing a big kaftan but note and voice perfect - you must have seen him on a bad night

Moulettes via their mail service have announced that they will be playing with Levellers at this years Cropredy, thus it will probably be a mostly acoustic set.

Good!

Is that ‘with’ Levellers? ie. on the same stage at the same time? By your comment this means Levellers are playing in the same vein as their most recent ‘We The Collective’  album

I believe Moulettes supply a string section to complement the existing violin, played by Jon Sevink.

That would be a shame, they are great when they do an acoustic set, but to headline and finish the night (which they do better than almost anyone else around) it ought to be full on.  Hopefully it will only be the odd song acoustic, and mostly it will be the full-fat Levs.

I think it'll be half/half set.

More than likely... Possibly a practice run of some of their Beautiful Days set.

Tickets arrived today Grin
But because school starts on Monday before the festival I have to work on Thursday morning and will be at the bar in the evening.
So - who can open the bar?
