Not quite sure how I feel about this.  Yes, I like the Beach Boys, but I was never in the 'Brian is a genius' camp.  Just think they made good pop music.  I expect it'll be good, but doesn't quite warrant a Wow from me.  Maybe it will on the night.  We'll see.

You must be gutted it wasn't the (current version of the) Beach Boys, then.

Not quite a WOW from me but as I was dreading a WTF I'm quite pleased in an underwhelming kind of way.

Brian Wilson puts on an amazing show simply because the songs are so strong, and his band renders them lovingly and expertly.  Al Jardine is a good emcee, and if you're lucky you'll also get force-of-nature Blondie Chaplin!

It will be well worth it, IMHO, for those of you on the fence!

I can guarantee one thing...there will be some happy faces and some unhappy faces at 5pm. Lets make a pact...we will all just sigh with relief.

Definitely a wow! from us. Found out as we emerged from Bounds Green tube into a torrential downpour where surfing home would have been an option!  Smiley

Now that's a WOW!

Oh yes, sure is.
Saw him a few years ago at Hop Farm, and although he looked fragile he was so well supported by Al Jardine and daughter and I felt very privileged to have seen him.
Then I went to his Pet Sounds performance at the London Palladium and even the young front of house staff were smiling and singing away.
Never thought I'd ever have the chance to see him again.

My guess of Del Amitri was hopelessly wrong then!  Smiley

Seriously though, Brian Wilson imo is an absolutely perfect choice for that spot.
Even if you’re not overly keen on the Beach Boys, it’ll be impossible not to sing along with those timeless hits that we’ve all grown up with.

When I saw him about 10 years ago the band was mainly The Wondermints, who were superb.

Agree with all of that. Great singalong music, everyone will enjoy it.
Not what I wanted but maybe I set my sights a little too high! Smiley
