I haven't seen any mention of this - http://www.cherryred.co.uk/artist/dave-swarbrick/ around here, or I may have missed it. The Transatlantic recordings, remastered, with a new 3,000 word booklet by Colin Harper. Out November 18th.
Not that Colin's necessarily a big fan of all of the contributors - "Tear Stained Letter and Walk Of Life are basically the same – both awful, mid-tempo, accordion-wheezing estate-agent boogaloos" he writes.

I reckon I'll get that.  4 solo Swarb LPs on a two disc set?  Great.

I always think of estate agents when I hear accordions.  Don't you?

Hmmmm.  They also did quite a lot of those one-off reunions, that Full House line-up, didn't they?

£11.99 though?  Be a bit rude to say no.

Is there anything on there that's not on Swarb 1, Swarb 2, Smiddyburn and Flittin'?  I couldn't tell by looking at the link.

I think it's just that and only that.  But, incredibly, I've been wrong before....

On the Swarb/Swarb II disc they left 2 tracks off that where on the original vinyl.
When the tracklisting for the new one is correct, the tracks are now finally official released on CD

Odd.  If there wasn't room before, why is there room now?

Looks like its 4 (full) LPs, rather than a re-issue of that one, David.

Yes - the earlier anthology was a compilation of tracks from Transatlantic albums on one disc with live recordings on the second. Now going for £40+ on Amazon, I got my copy for £3 in Fopp a few years back!

The new album does include all of Swarbrick 1 and 2, Smiddyburn and Flittin. The previous 2 on 1 issues of these did lose 2 tracks from 1 and 2, the last 4 tracks of Swarbrick 2 are on disc 2 of new set. As earlier CDs were issued as separate items it presumably didn't make sense to split them this way.

Hmm, I already have Swarbrick 1 & 2 and Smiddyburn on the BGO reissue from a few years back, so it seems a bit much to go for that just to get Flittin' as well.  I wonder if it will be available as a download, so I can just pick that up separately?

I wonder if the Swarb estate will benefit at all or if the rights are held elsewhere?
