Has anyone had any recent dealings with Spin CDs?

I have used them on and off for many years without problems but it seems they have taken to not supplying ordered items (despite taking the money upfront) and not responding to phone calls and emails. It looks grim.

I have one outstanding item with them (fortunately nothing especially expensive) which is two weeks overdue and which has just said "Processing" on their website for that entire time.

I had an issue with a disc ordered pre-release in April. It came out in May.

First I was told the batch was faulty & replacements were on order.

Next it had been restocked, but my order had got mislaid & would be sent immediately.

A fortnight later having still not arrived, I was told that ***** had dealt with it & "he has his own system".

Finally, it was delivered at the end of July.

Emails went unanswered, although the on-line Customer Service form did get a response & all phone calls were answered promptly & politely.

Maybe a one-off series of mishaps, or symptomatic of a larger problem.

Perhaps ***** is running the place on his own just now.

Good luck Gub.

Thanks but i don't do Twitter. As far as I can see though, all they are tweeting is their newsletter which I am still regularly getting by email.

Still no response to enquiries.

All of this is giving rise to rumours on the net about their financial liquidity. That is not what any business needs. It is a sure fire route to loss of consumer confidence, consequent loss of trade and eventual collapse.

It is in Spin's interest to talk to their customers and negate these rumours but I fear the worst. Gonna write off that £10.99, put this one down to experience and order from somewhere else I think.

Think of the poor buggers that have pre-ordered the Floyd set.

I've not used Spin since they closed their physical shop here. A nice bunch of guys, obviously totally into the music, but a bit haphazard as to keeping things, or ordering stuff in.

Spin have always been tardy, and I've heard horror stories like this before, but in my experience if you keep trying, you get there eventually.  There is no sign that they are going out of business or anything.

They bloody well deserve to if they treat people like that.

This is beyond tardy. The item is a full month overdue and they are not responding to enquiries. It is not even as if it was something obscure, I have picked up a copy from Amazon in the interim.

If they are not going out of business, they soon will because the reputation that they are gaining for themselves will discourage consumers from using them. And I kind of agree with David at this point, They probably deserve it.

I would reiterate that if you paid by Debit or Credit card, you can get your money back via the Bank or Credit Card Co.

I know that is true of Credit cards. Does it definitely apply to Debit cards too? I thought the rules were different.

Been there.  I vowed never to pre-order with them ever again.  I always get my CDs from them.....but it's very much a case of 'eventually'.

Are on Twitter Al?
I've found that with some businesses, if you tweet your complaint directly to them, it seems to have the desired effect.
If they reply and ask for you to contact them by Direct Message -Don't.
Say that you want it kept public so that people are aware of your/their problems.
I've had great success winding up British Gas and BT.

* I've just read back to the beginning of this thread and I see that you aren't on Twitter.
Do you anyone who could tweet something on your behalf?

Honestly, if it was something really expensive I might pursue it further but for the sake of £10.99 it is not worth my time or aggravation. They have lost any future business from me and I shall be warning everyone I know against using their services but I am leaving it at that.

Life's too short and I don't need the anxiety.
