Not Perfect. Never Claimed To Be.

Posted on Pete Zorn's FB page today

To everybody that has taken time to like this page, I am writing this on behalf of my Dad Pete Zorn.
It is with our deepest regret to have to share this sad news but Pete has been diagnosed with advanced lung and brain cancer. He is currently in hospital and anyone that wants to visit him is welcome to, please just email me (Kate Zorn: kaytez1@aol.com) and I will give you details. I am hoping to post a message from Pete directly but at the moment he is too unwell to tell me what he wants to say, hopefully that will change soon.

This bastard disease.... Damn.

Dreadful news - one of the finest musicians I've ever had the pleasure to watch, whether with RT, the early 2000s Albion Band or Blue Tapestry, and an absolute gentleman...

Something I didn't know from his wiki page....in demand, was/is Pete!

Quote
He appeared in the UK top 10 in 1979 as part of Driver 67 with his brother-in-law Paul Phillips on the single "Car 67". He and Phillips met when Zorn came to London with Fishbaugh, Fishbaugh and Zorn, a three-piece folk rock band signed to CBS Records in London. Because of his talent on so many instruments and his vocal range, Zorn became a staple of many sessions produced by Phillips in the early and mid-seventies. After the hit with Car 67, they made an album called Hey Mister Record Man, under the name Tax Loss. Bill and Conrad Zorn also played.

Sad news, I shall always remember Pete on stage attempting to match RT with a mandolin solo on Shoot Out The Lights. Wonderful musician.

He's in a London hospital - if anyone feels they wish to take up Kate's offer in the original post, drop me an IM.

Terrible news.

One of the finest multi-instrumentalists I've seen. Added so much to so many bands.

Dreadful, Some of the best R<, RTB, Albions & Steeleye live shows I've seen had PZ on board. Was listening to "Thunder on the Horizon" just the other day.
