New Neil and the Horse.

Sadly, like so much of his recent output, I think it's somewhat lyrically trite and one dimensional musically, but hey don't let that put you off.  For those that do, enjoy...  Smiley

God, that’s awful.

Lol  Grin  Hmmm.  Yeah... Neil really has lost it big time.

Watched Jonathan Millers production of  Cosi Fan Tutti last night, the first opera I saw at the Royal Opera House in 2011. Bellisimo it's on YouTube for the next seven days.

A video to accompany the title track of the 2nd album by Carys, who some of you may know, which is available to pre-order now, if you like.

During lockdown, I've become slightly obsessed with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYjIlHWBAVo    Nightwish 'Ghost love score' live

One of the most amazing vocal performances I've ever heard - especially the final 3-4 minutes. Absolutely stunning

Cripes, who knew symphonic Finnish metal (?) was a thing?  That's well, very symphonic!  Definitely not for me, which is a recommendation in many people's book, I'm sure  Smiley

Wfh today, I'm listening to some recent purchases: Sleaford Mods - All that glue, Skip Spence Andoaragain (the expanded Oar) and Magnetic Fields - Quickees and revisiting British Sea Power's Sea of Brass box...

That's really excellent.

I quite like symphonic metal but I borrowed a Nightwish album from a friend years ago and found it a bit thrashy and growly but if that's an example of what they're doing these days, then I need to explore their newer stuff.

I believe that Troy Donockley has been in the band for a while which is an interesting career swerve.

I'd recommend their later stuff - Floor Jansen, the singer is extraordinary. Their last but one album 'The greatest show on earth' is really good - with guest vocal appearance by none other than Richard Dawkins!
