a bit folk-lite for me

Hmmmm, that's definitely not for me.  And I generally like things with that kind of vibe....

Sadly, it's got that thing that virtually all 'comedy' music versions has...it doesn't take itself seriously.  There's a good version in there waiting to come out.  That isn't it.  Far too 'knowing'....wink, wink, background farm animal noise.

My nephew sent me this link . It's a Georgian group called Trio Mandili. I hadn't come across them before, but they sound great to me.

Elbow have just been on Graham Norton. They're good, but just a little too far up their own arses.
So here they are being less so.

Just found this video of the Mary Chapin Carpenter's wonderful band with DM on drums, which toured the UK in 1999, including a week at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith where I saw them on 03/11/99 - a mindblowing gig!!

Probably been posted posted before, but I would be interested in peoples opinion on Doc Watson's - Matty Groves, I like it to the extent that I may purchase the album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SwOCf4My2o

This is surprisingly magnificent (or as my friend prefers "it rocks like a b@st@rd")

Betts, Hall, Leavell and Trucks(effectively the Allman's sans Gregg) - Southbound, Recorded Live: 5/7/1983

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWoNmgOhsuI&feature=youtu.be

(Full gig here if you're interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEjhwV14CsE&feature=youtu.be )

https://www.jambase.com/article/watch-frank-zappa-sit-pink-floyd-1969

Frank Zappa plays with Pink Floyd. For a long time it was believed, after the passing of many years, that this was merely a legend. Then an audience recording turned up, so we could hear it. Now we can see it.
This, to be fair, is not Frank and the Floyd jamming. It is Frank trying to get some improv going, but the Floyd are merely playing their standard post Syd Barret structured arrangement of Interstellar Overdrive as per usual.
Still, fascinating none the less.
