Apparently, it's the season of popular musicians murdering perfectly good songs.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Michael Ball sings May You Never... http://youtu.be/EB45luvyVpQ

It was actually reasonably inoffensive for the first 45 seconds and then oh dear...

. Off-beat, but not in a good way. And off-key. Bad, but not in a good way. The only way he is in the same league as JM is the beard

Off beat maybe, but off key?

Last weekend I played my first gig with the duo I play in Bright Trees. This is one of the songs which my wife Nikki videod, I am the chap with the bad posture "playing" the piano accordion. It's a song called The Flight of the Wild Gander, written by John who does vocal and guitar, he writes all our stuff. This one is about a boy who is turning into a goose. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxYL3X1LH2s

I had this band at the Musician earlier this year, but they didn't play this. Stairway to Heaven by Harpeth Rising.

Sam Carter and Jim Morays' new band False Lights seem to have got the gist of Folk Rock, I really like this version of Skewball https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3726plLDgvM

Clip of the encore at Celtic Connections' opening night. This will bring a smile to your face - especially if you like the music of Martyn Bennett.
