Steeleye at the Hexagon, Reading on Monday has crept up on me.  Loos like there are still plenty of tickets available from the website, so I'll probably turn up on the evening and see what I get (just like the old days, when it was only the really big gigs that we bought advance tickets for!).

I have a few lined up for once...

She Makes War, Richard Thompson, Karine Polwart, Chris Wood,  Bryde, The August List and Robin Ince's Nine Lessons and Carols. Most in Oxford, a couple in London. Should keep me busy until Christmas. Then in the new year it'll be Operation Ouch Live, which I'm looking forward to most Cheesy .

Oh, and Nick Mason and Steve Hackett, which are both so far away I'll have forgotten by the time the gigs arrive. I'm placing a lot of trust in my calendar here...

Cheers

Muse at the RAH, 3/12/18. Tickets went on sale at 9 o'clock and were instantly sold out. >Sigh<
(Yes, they were expensive, but this isn't about price. I've never seen them.)

Sorry not for me! Over-rated IMHO

The prices are certainly overrated.  Anyway, there are still box seats available so not technically sold out.  Only £4800 for 12 or £1500 for 4....  It's for charity though, eh?  So that's alright then.

I fell foul of this last month for the League Of Gentlemen, mainly due to the tickets being e-tickets which ended up in my junk mail.

I've got tickets for opera tribute act Placebo Domingo.

I'm not convinced he's as good as the real thing, but just over 50% of his audience beg to differ.

How was it?

Last few times I've seen them, they were as good as ever but the audiences were woefully lacking in enthusiasm...

Not quite sure what's going on  Huh

It looked a little like that might be the case here, but 5 minutes in it was clear the old enthusiasm was there after all, especially from a very enthusiastic core of 20 odd at the front who led the assault well.  An absolute corker (I think they've tweeted along those lines too), and the new song stood up nicely.  They've still got it.  Is there any encore from any band around that matches Waving Flags and The Great Skua?  I love 'em.

Alan Parsons Project, Thursday night at ACL Live.

Haven't bought one of the many available tix yet, but I kinda dig him and this is only his second run through Austin since forever.  I predict I'll be there!  Tales of Mystery and Imagination, indeed!

I saw them in their slightly smaller format at the Good Life Experience.  I expected to enjoy them much more than I did.  I was very impressed but found them emotionally unengaging.  I can't quite put my finger on why.  I was disappointed though, as I really wanted to love them....  When you do, maybe you can tell me what I was doing wrong!

I've enjoyed what I've heard of SITW but haven't seen them or purchased any material b y them. I think I just don't like them quite enough to invest in them.  Stilll, it's good to see a younger band contributing to the tradition.
