I see that, in a surprise move, Chris Leslie has been made Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer. Can't imagine he'll be much good at it, though he'll probably write a few tuneful songs about Shadow Chancellors from days gone by, and may lighten up PMQs by singing his questions.

Of course, what we'd really like to see is Peggy as PM.

Get Simon to have a word with Cam - he said he wouldn't see the term of this parliament out as PM, plenty of time to make a peerage or get him in to some rotten borough when the next tory snuffs it and Peggy's your man! Simples.

Good news for Chris, but will he have time for the band with all this shadowy stuff to do? Mind you, I'm still gutted about Cameron being a Villa fan!! Shocked

His constituency isn't too far from us.. Would rather have him as our MP than the one we've got!

...or was it West Ham? Or maybe Burnley - they have those colours don't they? "Come on the claret and blue chaps! Play up and play the game!".

Burnley have already got a dodgy political fan (and the next King) - they don't need another!

I always used to think it was bizarre that Charlie was a Claret.  Until you remember/realise that Burnley won the League Title in 1959-60 (when he was 11)....
