Don't forget those that are fans, and those that may soon be, it's on at 9pm tonight BBC4.

This is a real treat for me.

An excellent rockumentary, well worth catching up with on the I-player if you missed it...I now have a far greater appreciation of Gene's contribution to both The Byrds and music in general. So, my post-Byrds Gene Clark collection, where do I start ?

I must admit I was a tad disappointed myself, but there you go...

As for where to start with Gene, well, I don't usually recommend compilations, but Flying High is not only a well-picked double CD of career highs, it also has enough rare stuff on it that it'll never get obsolete.  It gives you a full picture of the man, and it's a great springboard to exploring the albums proper, later on.

Mind you, I just looked on Amazon and saw it was just shy of £30 for a used copy:-

Uh...I think that forces a rethink.  Hang on, I'll get back to ya.   Sad

I was a tad disappointed too Jules. Not enough music, which may have pulled in more fans, and far too many fairly pointless interviews.
Perhaps it was that I already knew most of the stories already.

Good suggestion regarding 'Flying High' cd btw.  Smiley

Dan, if you can't get the 'Flying High' cd at a reasonable price, this is another good starting point.
