As RT has pointed out on FB, it is 50 years since Martin Lamble was taken from us.  RT says 'today'...other sources say the 12th.

The gig at Mothers was on Sunday the 11th.

According to the NME at the time, the crash happened in the early hours of Monday morning (i.e. the 12th). Source: Kingsley Abbott's book 'Fairportfolio'.

Jenny,

Could you give me a few of the “older songs”
- I am taking a first timer to Nettlebed and want
him to be familiar with a few songs.
Can probably guess a few?

Set list is here - looks a good one to me despite the DIY song.

Interesting article on her - she's RT's partner.

Me neither.

They've been together for a while, and Richard re-located from California to New Jersey, although obviously not widely publicised.

Reading between the lines of RT's recent interviews, if "Shoot Out The Lights" was his breakup from Linda album, then his latest "13 Rivers" is his breakup from Nancy album.

There's an interview with Nigel Schofield in the latest issue of RnR magazine talking about Off The Pegg and his favourite Peggy performance. There are also features on Phil Beer and Miranda Sykes along with a comprehensive guide to this summer's festivals.

Sad for all concerned. This development obviously blew up the whole Cropredy tourist thing that we did in 2007, 2012 and 2017, and caused some of the participants to choose "sides" (as though it's any of our business).

Well, I  saw Fairport last night for the first time outside of a Cropredy setting since....1977 🥴 in Belfast's Lyric theatre. A very different experience for me then to see all the audience in "civvies" with only rare sightings of lurid t-shirts and linen rainbow trousers and flower garlands.

A call from Simon asking how many had been to Cropredy revealed 7 or 8 of the 300-ish audience..with  similar number admitting to owning Angel Delight...

Re the setlist, the usual kind of mixture. I was disappointed after seeing the setlist posted above not to hear (possibly due to The Four of Us having a fuller than normal set for their "home" gig) but overall a nicely balanced set the enthralled the Belfast audience to a couple of standing ovations. A lovely experience, though I can't wait to see them in their (to me) natural setting. Roll on...(though not the bus)😉.
