Cubase LE5

I got Cubase free with my Tascam interface. I installed it on my desktop, and licensed it. It works fine, and I added some of the Line 6 POD plugins. Downside is, the guitar picks up some noise from the computer, so I decided to stick it on the laptop. Trouble is, I can only have it on a trial 30 day licence unless I unlicence it from the main computer. One way of getting round this is to pay 18 quid for a licence dongle, or to upgrade to Cubase 7.

Anybody tried either of these solutions?

Decided to get Cubase 7 Artist. It is amazing compared to LE5. It also comes with a virtual amp package as well, so I don't need to worry about the Line 6 plug ins.

Watched several hours of video tutorial already. I swear I won't get to grips with everything even if I live to be 100.

Yea the LE versions are decent for a intro but you need a full version when it comes down to it

Just for anyone else - there are plenty of great free DAW's (Digital Audio Workstations) available.

Free cross platform - fairly simple interface

Or Reaper, more involved - has replaced Logic for me which I used professionally for 10 years. You can evaluate it forever (fully functional) but I'd encourage you to chuck the developers some money for a license - very reasonably priced for a fantastic bit of software.
