If anyone would like the Please Please Me album in stereo with vocals in the centre, I'll put it in dropbox!

What's the origin of this mix, Stephen?

Interesting, but I think I'm OK with the three other versions of this LP/CD/Remastered I already own. It's good of you to offer it though.

Certainly not the latter as i have just had a despatch confirmation email!  Smiley

The updated link on superdeluxeedition was to the version I have ordered (1CD, 2xDVD) so I think I am ok

Good.  And, furthermore, phew.

It is in my hot sweaty mits

And I have finally watched it all, largely as a result of having been forced to take my foot off the work pedal this week. The main think that came across to me from this set is that, with the sanctification that has taken place over the last 35 years, it is easy to forget just how much fun John Lennon was. There are lots of highlights in the set but Version 3 of the Hello Goodbye promo is an unfettered joy.

That's good to hear, Gub.  He wasn't my first ever hero for nothing!  I have dropped a very unsubtle hint to my brother regarding its suitability as a Chrimbo present.   Wink

Something tells me that John would approve.  It's very like his and Yoko's art exhibits.

Indeed.  His mono copy.  That's what lead me to that web page.  They're tipped to be very interested, not surprisingly.

Talking of Ringo, much as I have enjoyed the new 1 video bonanza, it has to be said that his and Paul's brief new contributions do not exactly add a great deal of insight to things.  Roll Eyes

It is also very obvious that most of the directors clearly had no idea what to do with Ringo in most of the clips. It does not seem to have occured to them to let him drum. When the other three are posed amongst the greenery strumming their guitars during Paperback Writer for example, poor old Ringo is consigned to sitting on the ground tapping his fingers.

I'd love to visit that exhibit. There is something very appealing about it. The idea of all those first editions that were bought when the music was new and created such excitement amongst their owners, The shocking condition that many of them are now in that makes 1968 now seem such a long time ago. The ephemeral nature of the physical product when the music that it contains remains timeless...

As a brand, The Beatles have been going very well for over 60 years. Those like myself, have bought various formats ovver the years, of the same songs. I'm too old and set in my ways to change now. I have top class digital copies of all the music. I still await eagerly the videos/dvds/blu-rays of the films though. Shea Stadium and Let It Be are still out there, if anyone can convince Apple that they are worthy...

Plus, I've only got 1mb download speed, so streaming isn't the big answer for me...
