Looking at it now on Amazon. Doesn't take much but I'm confused. What's the difference between the £32.99 and the £34.99 copy's ? They seem identical. Three discs, two being DVD.

Seems there was a lot of confusion about this:

No chance of you getting the wrong version is there?

Or, worse still, having your pre-order cancelled?

It is in my hot sweaty mits, along with artefacts by Messrs Dylan, Gregson & Collister.  Smiley

8 discs of loveliness for me to work my way through. Sadly I don't think I shall have time for any of them over the weekend or for much of the next week.

Doing my maths, that sounds like a slim Dylan volume.  Not even the 6-disc set for you, Gub?

I know this is heresy but I did not find the Basement Tapes box an especially satisfying listening experience and know that I will be unlikely to listen to much of it repeatedly The same will be true of this one. There are other releases in the series that I will keep going back to and other potential releases also. This one just doesn't appeal in extended form. Wild mercury Bob is not my favourite of his personas, groundbreaking though he no doubt was in this period.

Ultimately I can't have everything. The bank balance won't allow it. I had to talk myself down from Bowie's Five Years today. I had to make a choice with Bob and I think it was the right one. I would like to have enough time to listen to things in my collection more than once. 8 or 24 hours of Bob in one single release is too much of an investment.

This is the eternal problem......£100 for something in a nice box, of material previously deemed unfit for release, that will get one listen and go on a shelf with all the others; at best maybe one or two tracks will make a self made comp. If you're only going to hear it once you may as well save the cash and listen on Spotify, or something.

Been looking around to see if this Beatles 1 Blu Ray thingy is doing anything on price, and was offered this as an Amazon frequently bought together item. I don't recall seeing it before. I don't think I'll be seeing it in the flesh either. It might well be down from £120.00, but as I've got all the original LPs anyway (a bit battered about mind)...

The Beatles 50th Anniversary Box Set

•   Collectors limited edition box set of the most significant Beatles album covers
•   24 art prints on 250gsm matte art paper
•   Officially Licensed Beatles Product
•   Limited to 1963 individually numbered units
•   Produced in the UK

Yeah, they dangled that at me too.  Looks like utterly pointless fluff to my eyes.

Now joined by a further two discs of other stuff and not a note single played. Cannot for the life of me see when I am going to find the time. Next weekend? Maybe?

There are just not enough hours in a day at the moment. Can we get a couple of those eight day weeks that the Fabs were so fond of?
