One of my favourite bands, only Justin Hayward left now. John had been ill recently, but had recovered and was back touring. R.I.P.

John Lodge was bringing his tour to Austin in December, with his son in law John Davison doing the Justin Hayward bits. I was planning to attend.
I did manage to see the Moodies thrice, in 1983, 1986, and 2018. Mrs. J From A saw them in Dallas in 1970. R.I.P. and thanks for the music.

The Yes singer, Jon? Didn't realise there was a connection...

Indeed the same. Jon D. married into the Lodge family a few years ago and has been touring with JL.

I did see on the socials that he was recovering. Sorry to hear this. People focused on the songs and his voice (for good reasons) but I also really loved his bass playing, particularly on Nights, I’m Just A Singer, and that great counterpoint on Question. RIP John

Sorry to hear of the passing of John Lodge , I was never a Moodies fan , but Blue Jays was my first ever gig , and I remember "Blue Guitar" playing on the radio in my Dad's car on the way to Hull ABC that night in 1975

Never saw the Moodies, despite babysitting / childminding for Justin Hayward a loooomg time ago.
Liked most of their middle-era stuff. The compilation "This Is The Moody Blues" is my go-to album of theirs although I have others.
RIP John Lodge, a fine musician and singer in a rock'n'roll band.

TIMB is one of the best compilations of its kind, from the overlapping fade out/fade ins (mimicking the FM radio listening experience) to the remixed tunes (listen to the intricate guitar picking and crashing drums on NIWS, which are not audible on DOFP). Great stuff.
