Steve Holley (& his family) lived next door but one to me in the 1960s and is indeed English.

I love the idea that you might not live next door to an American.  Tongue

So sad. I hadn't heard of Jeff Foskett before I took a crash course in the Beach Boys to coincide with the 50th Anniversary Tour in 2012. He was there in Grand Prairie, Texas, with the big combined band. I saw him again in Houston the following year with Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks in their joint tour with Jeff Beck. After that tour, he rejoined Mike Love's Beach Boys. I read a subsequent interview, in which he addressed the challenges of being Brian's musical director as well as caretaker on the road, and expressed gratitude for the Beach Boys welcoming him back. A very talented and obviously beloved fellow. R.I.P.

That man deserved to have been called a genuine Beach Boy. RIP Jeff.

Sandy Hurvitz.

Sorry to admit she's a bit obscure to me but there's a Zappa connection.

Yes, me too. Saw the post as well. Very sad.

Vernon Dudley Bowhay-Nowell from the Bonzo Dog band had apparently passed as well.

RIP Bob Johnson...

My late sister brought Steeleye Span into the house when we were teenagers, and we both agreed on the excellence of their particular brand of loveably eccentric English folk-rock...

Such a sad thing. He'd been unwell for quite some time, but he contributed to the 'Wintersmith' album and his song 'Green Man' has recently been given a new lease of life by Steeleye. That's two from the 'classic' line up now gone.

Guitarist Ronnie Carryl, 70. I came across him with Flaming Youth in 1969. Hadn't realised he stuck around continuing to play with Phil Collins, amonst others.
