Funny but here in Ireland most of the coverage I've seen is about Sinead and very little about Donal. They're both "national treasures" but in different ways, I   suppose...

It's the same here. Granted he's barely known here, but it still seems a bit wrong.

RIP Burke Shelley of Budgie at 71. He'd been suffering from a variety of health issues since being taken ill during a tour of Poland in 2010.
Time for a blast of "Breadfan" or "In The Grip Of A Tyre Fitter's Hand" later...

Very sad. We were all Budgie fans growing up, I've not listened to quite so much recently but I will be rectifying this today.

RIP Burke Sad

Thats so sad. Budgie have for a long time my only real concession to liking heavy rock. They got much praise in the book Electric Wizards,  a history of 'heavy music' which i read recently.

Another to add to my list of regrets. She played a Christmas-themed show in Austin back in 2017, of which I was aware but didn't attend. She was a perfectly charming and beautiful singer, a true legend, and I really wish I had gotten off my b*** that night. RIP

Not sure if this has been mentioned…
R. Dean Taylor died a couple of weeks ago.  Sounds as if Covid was part of the cause.

Meat Loaf age 74.
So sad, another great singer, actor, entertainer from our lives has gone! My sister and I had tickets once, can’t remember when, we were probably in our twenties, so years ago..but he had laryngitis so it was cancelled and we never did see him live.
RIP.

I've just heard about this - weirdly, I've had 'Paradise by the dashboard light' in my head all morning before I heard the news. I think 'Bat out of hell' is due for a spin today. Sad news...

Very sad - what an entertainer. Put 100% into every performance. Saw him about 18 years ago at Cardiff Castle, a magical performance.

Saddened by the loss of both Meatloaf whose total commitment to producing great honest heartfelt performance has always impressed me, and R Dean Taylor, who had an individual style which always impressed and he was a great songwriter.

I just saw it on Eliza Carthy's FB, so I fear that it must be true. Very sad, although probably not unexpected as she's been ill for a long time now.
