I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on "Let It be...Naked" ?? I really didn't like the LP as originally released, but stripped back - I guess the songs stand up, but worth buying?

Overall I prefer it to Spector's version (at least it's got Don't Let Me Down on it, and no Mantovani-style strings), but it's still flawed.  I ended up having to make my own version of the album using both sources, and others.  Hopefully the boxed set will take us closer to an ideal... or not.

Expected, delayed 50th anniversary box to accompany the Peter Jackson film later in the year. Not officially confirmed.

Likewise. I've just seen it on The Hanging Stars' Facebook page, who they toured with in 2019. Awful news, RIP Tom.

The Long Ryders were such an important band to me in the 80s, as I have written elsewhere. They got somewhat supplanted in my affections by R.E.M. later on but I rediscovered them in a major way in recent years. The comeback album a couple of years ago was just terrific and I was really happy to get to see them on the accompanying tour. So glad I did now.

Sad to see Charlotte Cornwall, one of the Little Ladies of Rock Follies fame died on 16 Jan, aged 71. I loved Rock Follies. It all seemed quite racy to my 15year-old mind! RIP

I loved Rock Follies when I was 15 or 16. Everyone at school watched it.
But I made a terrible mistake in getting the series out on DVD a few years ago. Definitely one that was best left in the memory. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at Rula Lenska's acting. Excruciating.

Yes, I was a fan even though I never knew what was going on!  Farewell, Charlotte.

I also used to love Rock Follies.
I just had a look at her Wikipedia entry and was surprised to see she was the half sister of John le Carré who also left us recently.

Ditto. The music and false Laandan accents were pretty awful too. Best left in the 70's!

It has just been announced that Cush from The Men They Couldn’t Hang died of a heart attack yesterday,
Really upset by this, a real larger than life character.
