I'll second that. I caught one of his solo shows at the Borderline about 15 years ago and had a chat to him afterwards. He could not have been nicer. What a sad day.

Really?  I don't think I know a single person whose musical opinion I really care for who doesn't rate those late period (at least) TT albums.  I played SoE last night and the solo album this morning.  They're the kind of albums that make you realise, however much fun they might be, that 90% of the stuff one has in one's collections are entirely superfluous....
