Probably. His other brother went under the stage name of Eden Kane. Not sure if he is still with us. I know he went to my school (some years before me) so I assume the family were local to me.

Just checked his Wikipedia page which contradicts my information. I remember my school music teacher telling me he had taught him and I think I assumed that was at my school but on reflection I think Mr H must have taught in Croydon earlier in his career, which is where Eden Kane attended school in the late 50s.

The song gets on my nerves too, but that's neither here nor there. It's a popular folk song with thoughtful lyrics, like 'Streets of London', which some other people can't stand. RIP Mr Sarstedt.

My romantic 8-year old mind loved the lyrics  Smiley I once looked into his other work, it was fairly innocuous.

Y'know, someone told me just yesterday it was year ago, and I was shocked. Seems just a few weeks or something.

It was definitely a whole year, chaps.  It was right near the start of the whole "2016 sucks" thing.  Then that ball just kept on rolling....

Plus he died just after his birthday.  In January.

Just heard that Mike Kellie - drummer with the VIPs, Art, Spooky Tooth and The Only Ones among many others - has died, although I've not been able to find any more details anywhere.
