Greg Lake, part two.

He played bass on "Real Good Looking Boy" (2003), the first new song recorded by the Who since 1989.  Pete later commented what a lovely fellow he was, having never met him previously.

Well, well...I genuinely didn't know that.

It was announced today that a key figure in the early years of The Beatles has died. Former concert promoter Sam Leach had been suffering from cancer and died at his Liverpool home early this morning, just days after his 81st birthday.

Despite musical snobbery from others, Quo remained an extremely popular band. Catchy tunes, and a nice bit of rock n roll they were great at. RIP Rick Parfitt.

Please may the rest of 2016 go away quickly, and not take any more of our favourites...

This one has hit me harder than some of this year's other losses. One of the first bands I saw and the first that my brother went to over 40 years ago now. Always had a soft spot for them. RIP Rick.

People forget just how big Quo were after Piledriver in 71, OK they went off the boil a few years later but they toured, had hit albums, singles, and an amazing career on the back of their 70's output. The reunion shows from a couple of years ago showed youngsters what they missed and Ricks rythmn guitar playing was awesome. RIP Rick.

First thing I ever played on the guitar was Caroline. They were an exceptionally tight band live. No pretensions, just good rock.

It's reported on the BBC website that he's passed. 2016 has claimed yet another.
