In a statement, Jon Platt, chairman music publisher Warner/Chappell, said he died in London last week at the age of 66 following "a brief aggressive battle with cancer".

Boogie Nights is imho completely irresistible & one of the great singles of the 70s. RIP Mr Temperton

He wrote some of my favourite music. If I need cheering up Boogie Nights does it every time. Thriller will have me singing along and dancing like a zombie. Rock With You was a dancefloor filler in my "disco" days (I miss them!!)

RIP Rod x

My favourite Heatwave choon was this 12" version of Mind Blowing Decisions. More of a laid back vibe than boogie time, but I love it anyway...

Sad to hear that.
Shooglenifty were meant to be headlining the Southdowns Folk Festival which I attended recently, but cancelled due to personal reasons.
I guess we now know why😥

I think I'm correct, in that he changed his name to Vee from Velline, at the suggestion of a certain Bob Dylan.
RIP Bobby Vee.

And news just in - Pete Burns, Dead or Alive singer, Celebrity Big Brother contestant and serial plastic surgery consumer. Heart failure at the age of 57. I have to say he lived a life, not sure it's one many of us would have wanted to live, but he was unique.

2016 is still taking them  Sad

Edit: I think we posted together Bill
