Nick Drake's 'Five leaves left' - remastered - for £1.99 at Play.com

Hmmm...I got this for under £3 earlier in the year.  You can almost smell a 2CD deluxe edition on the way can't you....?

I bought it from HMV (the shop) a couple of years back for two quid. I have this, Pink Moon and Bryter...., also Way To Blue which I bought first several years back, so whatever they bring out, I won't be bothering.

Vinyl buys today-from Gimmee Gimmee Records in Greenwich Village-

Easy-Ralph McTell-$4
Drive The Cold Winter Away-$5
Johnny Cash-From Sea To Shining Sea-$7
Rosanne Cash-Somewhere In The Stars-$2
Carter Family-My Old Cottage Home-$5

Whats more is the ones I had to pass up due to being slightly out of budget range-Fairport's Rosie, Mike Waterson's solo album (hopefully still there next time I go back), a bunch of great African stuff, as you would expect from an NYC vinyl shop, tons of Ramones, Talking Heads, etc that I want to add to my vinyl collection. Whats more, it was a store I had never come across before, right next to a police station, and it looked thoroughly derelict and dingy on the outside, and not much better inside. Now thats my kind of record store!

Amazon have it for the same price I see.

I don't own any Pentangle - is this a good place to start?  Is it a straight compilation from their core albums?  Any rarities here?  Anyone have the lowdown?

They're pretty quick on the draw at price matching play.com

Has gone up a pound but still good value I'd say.

I wouldn't claim to be an expert on Pentangle Jules, but this an excellent starting point. It's even got some John and Bert solo stuff thrown in for good measure.
For that price, you can't go wrong.

Only the first Cd seems to be Pentangle, but you can listen to samples of all tracks on Amazon. Have duly clicked and bought.

Then despite the bargain price, I think I'm going to explore the albums proper instead.

Bought a copy of "The Courage Of Others" by Midlake from the 2 for a tenner bin at my local HMV.

Doubtless others will be familiar with this but it was one of those real discoveries for me!
