Dolphins are Evil They Eat Kittens...

« on: June 30, 2010, 10:44:59 PM »

My 50th birthday is fast approaching and I decided I needed to do something to mark the occasion. I used to promote gigs many years ago, so have decided to start again, with the first one celebrating my birthday. Obviously I needed something special, so am pleased to announce my first gig (actually the day after my birthday).

Thea Gilmore will be playing at the Musician, Leicester on Friday 1st October. Tickets £13 adv. Would love to see a few TAWers there to help see me in to my sixth decade.

and if that isn't enough, Gigspanner will be appearing at the same venue on Thursday 18th November. Tickets £10 adv.

Any recommendations of other bands worth booking gratefully received.

Thanks.

No, I'm not very good at that sort of thing. It is a good friend and fellow promoter Chris McMinn (Cheeseweasel Promotions) who does the design and printing. He also did the Gigspanner one I sent you earlier today.

I'm sure if anyone wants posters designing and printing he would be happy to do them. Price is about £1 per A3 poster + design.

It isn't as easy as it looks is it? I did one recently, due to lack of time to get a proper one sorted, and it was okay but not as good as the ones your friend has come up with.
Anyway, here's hoping that they do a good job and get plenty of bums on seats  Smiley Best of Luck with everything, Andy!

Been trying to build a website for this, I'm afraid it's a bit amateurish, but it does the job. Will have photos when I can work out how to put them on.

There are still tickets on the door for the Thea Gilmore gig tonight if anyone fancies a trip to rainy Leicester.

Looking for somewhere to spend your Easter holidays? Well I can recommend Leicestershire, beautiful rolling countyside, plenty of historic sites and some of the best birdwatching in the country at Rutland Water.

Why the travelogue, well if you are in Leicestershire for Easter you can come to the Musician on Sunday 24th April for a special TAWer gig. I have the wonderful Red Shoes headlining, plus those highly talented youngsters, Leila, Ollie and Mike, better known as Cobbled Together supporting, to provide a night of great music and all for a mere 6 of your English pounds.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
