MAWKIN'S 2ND ALBUM TO FOLLOW!
-------------------------------------------
MAWKIN have decided to carry on with the help of Nick Cooke on melodeon, and will be working on a brand new purely Mawkin album over the autumn and winter months. We're all really looking forward to working with Nick and cant wait to get back rehearsing and writing instrumental music.

That's really bad news Cry
They were one of the best live bands I've seen recently. I really thought they had a great future ahead of them.
Let's hope they collaborate again in the not too distant future.

I was gutted too, I voted for them as best live act in the Hancocks, and now they are no more.

Well, they are meeting their commitments up to and including Shrewsbury FF. Catch them while you can!

arrh.. thanks for your lovely words guys.

Mawkin will indeed be carrying on with that lovely Nick Cooke replacing our beloved Alex Goldsmith on melodeon. We will be hoping to release our follow up to 'The Fair Essex' in 2011.

We will also be doing a special gig with Simon Ritchie (The Posh Band etc) in October with him singing for us!

In the meantime, perhaps I can tempt some of you to listen to some solo stuff I've been working on...

Dave - I always thought one of you guys, probably either you or Jamie, should be doing vocals. It's the way forward and the more you sing and the sooner you do it the better you will be. Singing is no different to playing an instrument, you have to practice, it makes the voice stronger, broadens the range, improves your delivery and interpretation. A lot of people say they are tone deaf, a simple of experiment of singing Happy Birthday disproves that. Sing lots and you can become a good singer, it will make Mawkin the force it ought to be.

Cheers Pete. Its definitely a bit of a leap into the unknown, but I'm really enjoying it soo far. Vocal exercises are hilarious... stick your tongue out and sing la ga! and you'll know what I mean..

I'm looking forward to all that time off to experiment and create again! Thanks for all your support guys.. It means alot.

Yo Dave. Ever since I first saw you at Moreton (when you were all still at school I think), I have wondered why one of you didn't sing. I couldn't be more delighted that one of you now is.  Smiley
