It's about the first official release in ages I'm genuinely considering buying as opposed to, um, well, er....

£34.66 on Amazon.  That's £20 less than Spin.  The GDM version comes with a 40-page 'book' though...

I take it that the version Spin will be selling will have the book though, yes?

Hmmm...certainly haven't seen that confirmed anywhere, Jules.  The GDM version is listed as a "GDM exclusive"... Are you going to ask or shall I? [Update: I've emailed Spin]

Thanks, David, because if Spin are selling the same version as Amazon, then I may as well cancel my Spin order.

My only concern is that the Amazon set does include the DVD.  The picture includes the DVD but none of the description does...

seconddisc.com seems to suggest that the DVD will be present and correct:-

"Sunshine Daydream will be available in a number of physical formats:

•Standard retail edition: contains the entire show on three HDCDs and one DVD featuring newly remixed 5.1 surround sound
•Deluxe Dead.net edition: contains the content of the standard edition with an expanded 40-page booklet and Grateful Days, a new documentary about the classic show. 12,500 copies of this edition will be available with a DVD, and another 12,500 with a Blu-Ray.
•Vinyl edition: the entire show on four LPs, limited to 5,000 copies"

I'm still unsure as to whether or not to stick w/ Spin, to be honest.

Yup. Amazon it is, especially postage free. The GDM exclusive extras seem pretty non-essential. Ordered.

While doing so came across this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Glendale-Train-Garcia-Riders-Purple/dp/B00DG1MDL4/ref=pd_bxgy_m_h__img_z

Having ordered the disc, I'm currently listening to it through their cloud feature & jolly good it is too. Not sonically top drawer, but good enough for these old ears. Yum.

Oh, also finally picked up a DVD copy of the new Blu-Ray version of the Grateful Dead Movie 2 disc set ludicrously priced at £9.53 at; http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B007JUJLBI/ref=ox_ya_os_product (but do I want a full length director's commentary, I wonder?)

One happy Deadhead here.  Grin

Seeing the CD and DVD set is not that much more on Amazon...I'm not quite sure who is the intended market for this, but still...

Picked up the "standard" retail version this morning for £20 - 3 CDs and 1 DVD.

Great cover art - will have to try to track down a t-shirt (or even better, a cycling jersey!)

Halfway through disc 1, and the sound quality & the band's playing are great (to my ears).

I must say I thought the cover art was lousy.  It had "let's do another generic Grateful Dead sleeve" written all over it (no, not literally), to my eyes.

I really think there is something about yellow tie-dye design that people either love or loathe.

I think the cover's great.  It does exactly what it says on the tin.
