And here's an absolutely sublime Mountains of the Moon from Neil Casal

Very enjoyable too, it suits his voice perfectly imho.  The guy on keyboards is the current Black Crowes ivory tinkler.

Now you come to mention it, that is a wee bit concise for the good ol' Dead.

Bit of worrying news from an unlikely source.

Get well soon, Bob.

Two wee snippets of a late period "I Know You Rider" & a few words on cyber freedom from John Perry Barlow on Radio 4's Today, this morning.  Smiley

So...shoulder or booze?  This isn't giving much away.

Boy I would be only too surprised to hear booze. While I have only met him once I have a few friends who know him pretty well, booze has never been a player in his m.o. Shoulder I recall him messing up back in 86 when I met him, he was in a sling during the Garcia coma month. Far more unsettling is speculation of stroke, which I do have firsthand knowledge of, and yes, behaviorally it did have that appearance. But he has always been someone who looks after himself, mountain biking, quarterback of the Mt Tamalpais Cheifs, but finally that is a human form he is living in. I suspect it will come to be sheer exhaustion, and his having taken some kind of painkiller that was more than he could handle, other than just maybe coke, never have known him to be much on pharmaceuticals, save at one point, he claims not since 1966, the highest quality LSD.

I too suspect the shoulder injury plus prescription meds plus overdoing it thing.  I'm made more suspicious by press releases that say nothing though (whilst fully understanding he's absolutely entitled to as much privacy as he wants).

Good work, Jules.  I'll collect it from the Sorting Office for you!

I dunno...new Rickenbackers and expensive Dead box sets...they obviously pay Library staff better in Gloucestershire than they do in Lancs.  Good work if you can get it.  The CV is in the post.

Having a doctor for a partner helps a little, David.

And it was a secondhand Rickenbacker.   Wink
