I've just picked up a photo book of the Dead for the princely sum of £2 from HMV; 365 colour and b&w photos covering the history of the band. A quick skim revealed some pix I'd seen before, but many I hadn't.  Helluva bargain for the Deadheads amongst us...  Cool

The news that 'Wake of the flood' was released 39 years ago today, has made me feel very old indeed!
I'm going to go and crank up the stereo right now........  Grin

I'm a bit behind the curve on this, but a link to a rather nice acoustic demo of "Weather Report Suite" was up on the Dead's Facebook page. I'm assuming it's the version from the expanded "Wake of the Flood" included in the "Beyond Description" box.

This place looks wonderful for a Deadhead evening out, doesn't it?   Has anyone from TAW been to visit yet?

I hadn't.  It's a cracker.  It's also the first thing I ever heard by them.

Really Jules?  I assumed that you were a fan from way back. You've crammed a hell of a lot of music into a relatively short period of time.  Cool

Yes I did.  No, I was a neophyte until a couple of years or so ago.  The likes of David here and others elsewhere helped steer me right.
