always show respect to anyone else's opinion, regardless of pedigree.

Raymond, as the instigator of this thread, nobody's followed it closer than me, and as far as I'm concerned nobody showed you any disrepect before you wrote that!  We were just sharing our opinions.  After all it doesn't matter if you're married to a member of the Dead, or a visitor from Mars, if you like an album, you like an album.  And that's even if the band who created it don't!

I think you got your nose out of joint for no good reason here.  Except that now you and Mike really have fallen out.  Shame!   Sad

I unreservedly apologise for allowing myself to engage in what, at best, has been an inappropriate use of this board.

I ought to have been more mindful of the public nature of any comments, rebukes etc that I posted and that allowing myself to 'engage' was not only contrary to the spirit that informs this site but, more significantly, a disservice to Jules's original question; I hope it doesn't hinder his journey into a canon of music that, perhaps, despite the inability of some of it's fans (I speak for both Robert and myself) to engage in reasoned debate on the subject - remains one of the more interesting and gratifying side roads of contemporary music.

As for Robert and I, we shall agree to differ with no life changing loss to either one of us.

They were part of the Sufi community that Richard and Linda joined.

From careful reading between the lines, Raymond might be in a difficult place right now. If possible, he may well need friends, not detractors.

OK, in some form or other the following have now been aquired and listened to:- The Golden Road; So Many Roads; Three From The Vault.

I've also got Download Series Vol 3 in FLAC form awaiting my lazy ass to transfer onto CDRs.

Next up for purchase will be Ladies & Gentlemen, The Grateful Dead.

Also on the shopping list is Steppin' Out With The Grateful Dead.

Another one I fancy is Rockin' The Rhein.  However this no longer comes with the ltd bonus disc.  If anyone knows where I might land a copy of this with the bonus disc, please let me know.

The same bonus disc issue will delay me getting a couple of the Road Trips series.  Namely Vol 1 No.3 and Vol 3  No.2.  Again, any clues to how to land these with bonus discs intact, please let me know.

And then it's Dick's Picks Volumes 35 and 30.  And Download Series Vol 10.

And that's just 1971 and 1972.  How do you professional Deadheads keep up?!?!   Shocked
