Congratulations Gareth!  Grin I guess there will be quite a few people wanting to present this award, so can I suggest that it be the prize of this year's Cropredy competition?

Such a hard category this year, well done Gareth.

Does this mean he has to get a very large round in at Cropredy?  Tongue

Not sure about that as it excludes the Quizmasters from getting to present the Hancock.

Blimey!

Many thanks everyone for the Hancock. A great honour indeed.

I shall delight in placing it IN FRONT of Simon's in the FC office! He has been unbearably smug for 12 months since he won his Hancock last year - despite the severity of my vicious slur campaign.

Although I may be the one who spends the weekend lashed to the tiller, I should really accept the Hancock on behalf of the fantastic crew who come year after year in all weathers and help make it all run so smoothly. There is no substitute for the experience they bring. When all is going well, they make me look good. When it's not, they scatter! Now there's experience for you.

A top idea for the presentation Ollie but (as you know, being a former competition winner) I'm sure you good people would prefer the prize to continue to be an hour on stage at the end of the Fairport set. However, if anyone fancies coming along to any of the gigs on the Julie Fowlis Tour in June which is being booked as I type, I'll be the bloke at the back (bearing an uncanny resemblence to Father Jack Crilley) mixing the sound. It'd be good to see you there so if anyone does fancy coming along, I'd be delighted to accept the award at one of her gigs - she being a fellow Hancock winner herself.

I'll leave it up to you guys.

But if you can arrange it for Simon to be there too, I'll buy you all a drink!

Thanks again.

Gareth

Well done, Gareth, and a personal thanks from me for being so receptive to my requests last year. A presentation around the bar is surely imminent, and something to look forward too  Cheesy

I know from experience that Gareth has a track record of making a point of taking time out from the bigness of everything to deal with the minutae personally, and so that's why I am terribly pleased he was given this year's award.   Fez
