Oh splendid!
Well done Hannah and Sam, much deserved.
I'm sure I'm not the only one to be very excited by the prospect of watching Hannah, Sam and everyone nominated for a 2010 Horizon Hancock - all these wonderful, wonderful musicians develop and progress. What a privilege.

Without wishing to hijack Hannah and Sam's celebratory thread, I'd just like to express my gratitude for these awards in general, the board for putting them together and the board members who discussed, debated, proposed and recommended so many brilliant artists with such heartfelt enthusiasm. Thanks. This award in particular proved to be absolutely brilliant to follow as it introduced me to some music that I have enjoyed immensely that, were it not for this award, I may never have been exposed to.

Thanks again, a very grateful newbie Smiley

In the words of Gwynneth Paltrow (between sobs and sniffs):  'I couldn't have done it on my own'.  Without the sponsorship of Kath Hancock and His Yabbness, and without Nick doing all the work, I wouldn't be standing before you now, taking all the credit.  Thank you for those kind words.

Over the past 12 months our little community has seen the arrival of some splendid new members who have enlivened our discussions.  I earnestly hope that one or two (or three or four) of them might think about presenting an award this year.  It would be particularly appropriate in this, the Horizon Award, and new presenters can be assured of bags of support from past ones.  Newbie-ness need not be a barrier - in fact, it's the opposite - because without new members' contributions to the Hancocks process, our deliberations would have been the poorer.

Thanks awfully.
