I didn't try the village pubs, but the beer on site was very nice, and I think the staff came from one of the local pubs.

I see there are two pubs in the village, but on their web sites they both talk about food a lot and don't mention beer.  Roll Eyes

Food is important, of course, but is either of them actually a pub that serves real beer?

I tried one, the other being shut at the time. The landlord's Mum lives two roads away from me, would you believe. I can't remember what beer they sold but it was good and definitely not Greed King. I would have remembered that Angry

is it quite hilly then malcolm

The camp site slopes quite sharply but the line along the wood at the top is flat as is the bit at the bottom. AdrianW parked at the bottom in his campervan last year and his glasses stayed upright (whether he did I leave to further research!)

The bit at the bottom which is smooth and level is not very big. There is a lot of smooth but sloping space where ramps may help, but getting there early is the best advice.

I ate and drunk (a little) in one of the village pubs the day after last year's festival and it was fine. The previous time I did visit one of the pubs during the festival and it was very full and very busy, but did succeed in getting fed and I think the beer was fine.

I'm sorry to be missing PotL this year as it is a true little gem, but it clashes with two other festivals I wanted to go to, and I chose the one I haven't been to yet.

In response to children - 11 and under- are free.

One bit of bad news- One of the pubs, The True Heart, has closed following the death of the landlord and plans are currently before Swindon BC for change of use for 2 houses and 2 more in the car park, so if you feel inclined write to SBC planners opposing this
mail to:RBillington@swindon.gov.uk   Subject: RE: True Heart Public House 09/2022 and 2021

The Royal Oak is going strong serving Arkells ale and organic food, they have done the bbq at previous events and will be doing so this year. Some might say the food at the pub is a bit pricey but that's organic for you and I'm not entering into that argument. It would be a shame to lose the True Heart offering an alternative.
Jil Barke, C&J's agent, and Ishka will be doing Vegetarian food on the day.
The bar has yet to be sorted but likely to be done by Royal Oak therefore Arkells. Possibility of a friend doing cider and perry both award winners in Wales.

Ordered tickets are in the post.

Real shame about the True Heart -we've tried both pubs and found them both to have been friendly and serving good beer. The slightly pricey food at the Oak was well worth it though!

My tickets arrived on Saturday. They have easily read numbers this year, Rob having abandoned his use of near-invisible ink.
Mine is number 167 so about one-third of the tickets have already been sold.

Sorry to hear about the True Heart.
