Hi all,

New to the forum, but thought I would share the new project I've been working on independently over the past few years:

We started the Revel & Rhyme project around 3 years ago as a remote collaboration between two brothers, one based in the UK and the other in Malta. The album was finally completed in 2019 with significant additions from two wonderful musicians, Jude Rees and Jon Loomes, to whom we owe great thanks.

Inspiration for the album came from many sources, but there is an emphasis on giving voice to the largely forgotten and intentionally neglected social history of resistance in England. Many of the themes covered in the album deal with issues that are as relevant today as they were in the past. The inequity of political power and wealth, war, destitution, blind nationalism, exploitation and the destruction of our environment. It's clear that the regressive actions of the tiny minority who wield power, wealth, and privilege to serve their ends with scant regard for the impact it has on the common people of the world, are as pervasive today as they were in the past, but on a global scale. It is in our power to resist in whatever way we can, to continue the struggle, and to never give up hope of a better day. The struggle for freedom and equality has roots that run deep into the bones of our nation and we should all take heart from the sacrifices and achievements of our forebears who cut the path that we now tread.

Here's the link to the album:
