Wow - what an amazing show!

Everything I love about this band was reinforced last night. Stunning set list, perfect blend of old and new songs seemlessly interwoven, showmanship and a tangible feelgood factor. Highlights included Pretty Persuasion, Nightswimming, Orange Crush, Hollow man - I could go on and on! Stage lighting and visuals were also very impressive.  If you get a chance to see them at Twickenham (I think some tickets are still available) then go go go.

Cheers

Looks like I've got some REM catching up to do!  I'd forgotten how much I liked them until a friend got their first album in a bargain bucket somewhere and played it to me.  Most marvellous.  Can anyone recommend another really good album of theirs?

Pretty much everything up to Automatic For The People but if you are going for just one I'd recommend Life's Rich Pageant or Document.

Wish I'd been at this show. I thought about it.  Sad

Now thats my kinda advice:

'Lifes Rich Pagent' is a head on rock album (but in an REM sylee of course)
'Document' is much more diverse and is my favourite REM album
'Green' is a more polished version of Document - another good starting point.

Them plus Murmer are my favourite albums, with 'Fables from the Reconstruction', 'Monster' and 'New Adventures in HiFi' coming up next.

I listened to the new album for the first time on the way home tonight.

I'm impressed so far.

yeah i'd go with that...i'd even say anything up to Green and you should be okay...all their stuff sounds pretty bland now.

Document and Lifes Rich Pagent......classic albums.
