Hello everybody peeps how jolly nice to be a part of the Cropredy family.

1.   I'm Porl, one half of the infamous Margo & Porl duo (infamous in our family that is for enjoying music, festivals and like-minded bods.)

2.   Being a Cropredy attendee I saw the site and thought I'd jump in?

3.  To be honest I never really listened to Fairport Convention that much, until we attended Cropredy. Following the festival e jumped in a little more.

4.   Oh my goodness, all sorts, Rock,  Space Roc, Psychedelic Rock, heavy rock, metal, symphonic metal, blues, orchestral, folk, dance, trance, D&B (mainly just The Prodigy really in this genre), soul, a bit of jazz, errr.....

5.   Black Sabbath farewell in Birmingham, which was truly awesome. OOh no, I lie, it was when Margo and I went to the Stone-Free festival at the O2, now that was truly awesome, Rainbow, BOC, The Sweet, Gun, Tequila Mockingbird,

6.   Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns - highly recommended.

7.   Complete the following sentence:
“Tonight, Sir Robert, I am going to be my all time favourite singer Paul Rodgers and I will
sing, quite badly:  ' Wishing Well'

1.   Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Steve and I live in St Helier, Jersey. I am originally from a small ex mining village called Atherton which is near Bolton.

2.   What made you join Talkawhile?
I have been looking at the site for several years but only now have I decided to take the plunge and join in.

3.   What do you know of Fairport Convention and/or Cropredy if anything?
I was aware of Fairport many years ago but it was only when I went to Cropredy with a friend - who is a fan - that I became interested in them

4.   What kind of music do you like?
All kinds - my taste is very eclectic

5.   What was the last gig/festival/recital/concert that you attended?  What was it like?
It was the New Day Festival in Faversham., Kent and it was very good. The weather was great and the music ranged from The Strawbs to the New Model Army - something for all tastes!

6.   What was the last CD that you bought?  Would you recommend it?
I bought an Ashley Hutching CD about the early days of Fairport- very interesting but definitely for fans only I think

7.   Complete the following sentence:
“Tonight, Sir Robert, I am going to be my all time favourite singer Bob Dylan……. (name of singer) and I will
sing:  ' ...Idiot Wind.............................'   (name of song) - Why not!! I can murder it as good as anyone else.

Hi Everyone
Thanks to Jude and to you Sir Robert for your warm  welcome.
I'm new to the boards so sorry in advance for any  mistakes and forgive too any minor breaches of protocol!
I'm originally from Lancashire but currently live in Kendal Cumbria.
I used to own a record shop while working and that's when I first started listening to FC via Unhalfbricking.
I write songs in the contemporary folk/ Irish genre and had some minor success with radio plays of my songs.
I'm interested in connecting with FC appreciates in my area so please send a message.
Kind regards
John

Sir Robert started this thread so newcomers won't realise that he's no longer still here.
