Cheers Simon, I saw you in the audience for Eliza Carthy's set on Sunday, but you were in a conversation at the end so I didn't say hello - I loved the IV set again - Top Darts Simon

I was all set to say something here but Skirky's already hit the nail on the head with words that, as ever, are far better than I can muster: I've been following the Q&A avidly and I must say that Simon comes across as a quite brilliant, witty, amusing, literate and good eggedly talented seer as ever one could hope to correspond with. I really haven't got much to add to what's already been posted, so I thought I might just make him a MySpace friend and bask in any reflected genius that rubs off. I only bought the thing for someone else in the first place, but since they seem to have very cleverly dispensed with that useless cellophane wrapping most CDs come in it seemed rude not to have a listen and I was moved, not to burn, download or otherwise snaffle it, but to order another copy immediately. From the spoken intro through all the reimaginings, I can't say I've heard a better and more innovative take on reinventing the form for donkeys years. There's not really a question in all that though... If you're reading this though Simon, "Hi, I used to love Working Week!" Have a brilliant show at Cambridge this weekend! and we'll see you on tour. Thanks for a great Talkawhile session Nick

Thank you Simon, for the wonderfully informative rambling replies, and for joining in so enthusiastically with the board. I hope to catch up with you at Cambridge, and I will be able to see the whole IV set this time! Look forward to IV2. Anne

My thanks too, very much enjoyed your comments, gently thought-provoking. Knowledgable, but with that slightly different perspective for many around here. Just right!

and thank you all, it's been a blast, here's some related IV links. 1: I am putting up IV live footage on YouTube and have started with CHRN from Glasto, will do 'ouses and Tam Lyn next. 2: Radio 2 Cambridge/IV link. 3: Snotty BBC review of IV album by Chris White, any positive comments welcome from TAW supporters on the feed back section below the review! BTW BBC4 may well do a 30 minute feature on the IV over the Cambridge weekend so watch out for that. It'll be a real result for us if they do. I am trying to sort it out now. I will be really busy over the next few days with Cambridge coming up then the Big Chill but will check in to the TAW forum when I can. Seeing as this section of the forum is closing is it worth opening up a new stream for IV matters or shall we just keep using this space. I am not bothered. 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aW9S89FWhjg2 http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/cambridgefolkfestival/2008/lineup/theimaginedvillage/3 http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/release/dxgb/thanks again for all the support, Simon

What an absolutely fabulous gig tonight. The setting up took longer than alowed so they were 20 minutes late starting, but it flowed beautifully and they got all the important stuff in. I have never seen the tent so rammed for the last act of the evening. Everyone was really up for it, and loved it. People's reactions afterwards were amazing. Look out for a lot of CD sales tomorrow. I do hope the footage gets shown on TV, and not just the standard one track as part of the folk festival coverage. Well done Simon, it was a triumph! (and the screen worked really well in that venue) off to bed now very tired. and I still have to pack for Sidmouth.
