It doesn't appear on Napster yet. The latest on there is The Best of the BBC Recordings (BBC version).

I've just purchased and downloaded it from iTunes, which surprised me as I didn't think it was out just yet. I'm playing it as I type, and it's jolly fine. Well worth 79p!

By the way, there's a bit of confusion evident at the iTunes store. The review for the single is in fact an assessment of the WKWTTG album, and the store claims that the single was released in 1997. However, it really is the 2008 Chris/Kellie version.

Also, on iTunes, it is listed as "Number One (live)"

Same on HMV: "Number One". Bizarre.

I must say it's nowhere near as good as any of the Beth Gibbins versions I've heard  Sad

Hmmm ... I'd definitely disagree. Not that my disagreeing means anything: it's all just a matter of taste, I guess.

And on eMusic, where the review is also that of the 1997 album...

I ordered it from ditto music - got to be one of the worse websites ever. It wanted me to log in before I'd even created an account with their "clickandbuy" thing and when I did create an account it promptly told me the password was incorrect and refused to send me a new one.

Anyway, I finally did it, and they've taken the 79p today, but no idea on how to actually download it!

Fairport's website is **** as well.

I tried to order it from 'Ditto' too - hopeless.  How does anyone outside the Fairport newsletter knows it exists? Is it being marketed/advertised anywhere or is it simply word of mouth?

Curious.

Same here - ordered it from Ditto, they've taken the money but not provided a download link.  I've now got it from iTunes instead (or as well as).  Lovely track, if you can get it!
