Ah, thankyou. Great to see that up and about. Are the rest of the early 80's vids up there too (makes mental note to check)? This is my Fairport. Love this band. One happy boy...

It is a real nostalgic trip back in time...82 was my first Cropredy...and I have never seen this video, purchasing them at the time was expensive...although I did buy the one from the following year. I owned the AT2 cassette tape and I am so pleased the song,'Here comes the cowboy's' is on the video. The chap who wrote the song, Brent Parlane is continues to perform in his native Australia) Brent knew Trevor Lucas who heard the song and decided to present it to Fairport as a song to perform in their set that year. I am in occasional contact with Brent and sent him a link the other day.

'82 is one of my favourite Cropredys, but hell, it didn't half rain during Fairport's set. We were fortunate in being able to camp at the top of what is now field 6 & could watch the stage in the warm & dry from our tent doorway, then sloshing our way to the front when it finally stopped.

I just uploaded an instrumental interpretation of The Hiring Fair as performed in the mid-1990s by me (on bass) and my friend Jennifer Klich (on viola). At the same link, you'll find footage of me sitting in as a guest bassist for one tune (Portmeirion) with Fairport on 18 Sept 2002 at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood, California. https://myspace.com/dooovall/videos

Not YT, but this is a short video of Sandy Denny's 16 year old grand daughter Jahmira singing - possibly the first time in the public domain. She is wanting to follow in Sandy's footsteps and pursue a singing career. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=636608653027435

Personally, I'm no fan of that post X-factor 'oversinging' style, but good luck to her, mind.

I predict on the next Fairport album there will be- 1. Hardanger Fiddle played by Chris 2. An instrumental track with Scandinavian influences

That was beautiful!
Eight string violins, I wonder if Chris was tempted to buy one.
