Howdy people!
I don't know if any one here has come across this amazing band! http://www.pogirl.net/
I came across them when I got a voucher for amazon for my birthday last year, i was looking to see if 'the be good tanyas' had got a new album out (which they didn't) and amazon recommended Po' Girl to me. There were no mp3 samples or anything but i just went for it and bought "Vagabond Lullabies" (their second album). When it came I was amazed! it is sort of a mixture of folk, bluegrass, country and with some 'beat boxing'. I haven't been able to stop listening to it for the past year. I bought their first album a couple of weeks ago it is equally as great but is a bit more jazzy.
So, If any one has a tener free, or fancies something different and that they wont be able to turn off! check them out!

I see that Trish Klein of the Be Good Tanyas is also a member of the Po' Girls - No wonder the Po' Girls' CDs are so good!

You're going to cost me money telling me about this Olly.  Wink

Cheers

They are from this neck of the woods - we saw them supporting David Byrne a few years back.  Very good indeed.

They have a website at www.pogirl.net

See they were in the UK recently...

They may come as close as Buckingham - keep your fingers crossed!
